Double win at Silverstone

Silverstone trophiesDay 1 – After a very close qualifying session which had the top 10 cars covered by less than 1 second, Lee took pole with a time of 55.30. Race 1 looked like it was going to be a closely contested race. But the weather would also play its part as the rain began to fall meaning a wet race. The race began and Lee held off the field into turn 1 and by the end of lap 1 had began to build a lead. The battle for 2nd gave Lee a great chance to pull out a gap of 5 seconds which he held to the finish.
Day 2 – Qualifying was much of the same with the top 12 drivers covered by 1 second and again Lee took pole with a 55.10. It looked to be a dry race as the cars headed out onto the track but again the rain began to fall on the green flag lap. With the rain falling and all the cars on slicks the race was anyone’s to win. The race began and Lee was sided by side into turn one and came out with the lead. Behind there was cars spinning and 2 cars rolled over as the touched into the first turn. lucky both escaped unhurt. The race began to unfold with Lee edging a small gap ahead of the chasing field. The track conditions were getting worst and the gap had grown to 6 seconds and Lee looked to be managing the gap to the 3 car battle for 2nd. Lee took the flag and a second win of the weekend.
